2006’s Sam & Max Save the World is being remastered for the Switch and PC, and it’s looking to be a job well done if the below trailer is anything to go by.

The developer of the remaster, Skunkape Games, purchased Sam & Max following the sad shutting down of original Sam & Max Save the World developer Telltale Games in 2018. There’s actually a number of people on the development team that previously worked for Telltale Games.

What can be expected from the remaster? Enhanced graphics, including dynamic lighting, better lip synching, as well as an improved user interface. Remastered audio (along with five new music tracks), 16:9 aspect ratio and higher resolution support can also be expected. It all looks and sounds very impressive, and I’m sure it will also run better than the rather creaky six-episode original.

The cartoon dog and rabbit that are Sam & Max originated as comic characters that were created by Steve Purcell. Their first point and click adventure, Sam & Max: Hit the Road, was released by LucasArts in 1993.

Sam & Max Save the World – Remastered is due to be released on December 2nd.

Let’s hope that Skunkape will also release quality remasters of Beyond Time and Space, and the Devil’s Playhouse. If you take a look at the top of their website, it’s certainly looking very likely.
