Twilight Princess HD is more than a pretty face

Nintendo wants the world to know that the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD on Wii U has received more than just a face lift.

The remaster includes a new Ghost Lantern. The item will apparently glow when around a ghost-like Poe, which means that it will make the Poe soul-retrieving quest much easier than you may remember it to be in the original version of the game.

The game also features a new Hero mode, which sounds rather challenging. In this mode, Link takes double the damage and there isn’t any heart drops. Also, if you come across a Rupee in a chest and your wallet is already full, then the Rupee won’t be returned to the chest in the way it normally would be, although the wallet is apparently able to hold more Rupees. The Hero mode is definitely aimed at the experienced, or for those who just like punishing themselves.

Nintendo are also keen to point out that the Wii U GamePad makes things quicker and easier in a number of ways. The map and inventory and easily accessible, and transforming into the wolf takes a single tap on the GamePad screen.

If you purchase the physical version of the game, you’ll also receive the Wolf Link amiibo, and this is currently the only manner in which you can get your hands on this figure. For more on the Wolf Link functionality, see here.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD will be released on March 4th, and Nintendo claim that many more updates exist in their remaster, although they are leaving them for you to discover for yourself.
