In a rather unusual twist for the series, the recently announced Resident Evil: Revelations 2 will be released episodically across four episodes, with one new episode released every week.

Capcom are promising that each episode will end on a cliffhanger, and the weekly episode release format means that it is similar to a TV series.

You’ll be able to buy each episode separately or together for a very slightly more expensive price. The latter will feature additional game content. UK Prices have yet to be revealed.

Capcom have also said that a full retail release of the game will be released once all the episodes have appeared to download. The retail release is said to feature the additional content that you get for downloading all the episodes together, but it will also feature more content on top of that.

Resident Evil: Revelations 2 features the return of Claire Redfield, who will be joined by Moira Burton, daughter of Barry Burton from the very first Resident Evil game. The two characters find themselves having to team up when they are imprisoned on an island. You’ll also be taking on a new enemy called the Afflicted.

Resident Evil 2: Revelations is due to be released early next year, and it will be released on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
