Sony are working away on an updated version (model number CUH-ZVR2) of their PlayStation VR headset, which will include a new processor unit, allowing for HDR pass through. This means that those with TV’s that support 4K won’t have to switch around cables in the way that you do with the original PSVR model. Sadly, you won’t be able to buy the processor unit alone if you own the original model, as the cables are different. Also, this in no way means that the PSVR headset will have support for HDR itself.

The stereo headphone jack has also been relocated, allowing you to integrate the headphones with the headset itself.

The updated model will be compatible with all the games and will also have different packaging to set it apart from the original model.

The new model currently doesn’t have a release date, but it will be priced the same as the standard PSVR.
