Sony has announced on their official European PlayStation blog that not one but two special editions of Gran Turismo 5 are to be released when the game finally hits the shelves in November.

What can you expect upon forking out the extra cash? Well, firstly the Signature Edition is the pricier of the two (£149.99/€179.99), and comes in a metal box with a 1:43 SLS AMG model car, a leather wallet, metal key fob and USB flash drive complete with Gran Turismo logos, there’s also an art book and a mini strategy guide. Finally, there’s an exclusive dynamic theme and 11 downloadable motors. The Signature Edition will also allow people with a real world driving licence to take part in a competition in the game and in real life by testing your driving skills in the AMG Signature Edition driving school. The prize? A Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG supercar. A real one, if you’re wondering.

For those who can’t afford or aren’t willing to splash out for the Signature Edition of the game, but are still wanting to show their dedication to the series by paying a premium price, a Collectors Edition priced at €79.99 (£66) will also be available. This version comes in a nice slip case, with art cards, 5 downloadable cars,  and the dynamic theme and mini strategy guide featured in the Signature Edition.

Gran Turismo 5 is due for release in November on PS3. Some of us have been waiting a long time for this one.
