EA and Criterion have finally made Burnout Crash! official. The developer has taken the popular Crash mode, which was first seen in Burnout 2, and made an entire game around it.

This time you’ll be getting a top-down view of all that crashing, with colourful cartoon-style visuals. The game itself has been described as a mixture of pinball and game shows. Once again you’ll be crashing into traffic, chaining points together, and blowing your car up for even more destruction.

Furthermore, the game will include the popular Autolog feature, in which you’ll be able to compare scores and compete in challenges. There will also be three modes in the game, 6 locations and a total of 18 crash junctions. Finally, the Xbox 360 version will support Kinect, in which players are able to team up for some local multiplayer action.

Richard Franke, Creative Director of the game, sounds pleased: “We’ve evolved the core gameplay which everyone loved about Crash Mode, and expanded the whole experience using music, style and Autolog to create what we feel is the most mindless fun you can have on any gaming platform.”

Burnout Crash! is due for release this Autumn via download on Xbox Live Arcade and PSN.
