Funcom have revealed new gameplay footage of their upcoming game, Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden, which is due to be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One sometime in 2018.

The story is set in a dark post-apocalyptic world in which very few humans are surviving aboard a special base, called the Ark. Not only have some humans survived, but a quirk of the game is that it seems some animals have not only survived, but mutated, becoming more human-like (or they could be humans that have mutated into animals, but that’s not made particularly clear). Now humans, and these new breeds of anthropomorphic animals, have to work together to survive.

One of the characters, Dux, a duct-taped, crossbow-wielding anthropomorphic duck, quickly became famous after the games reveal trailer was released.

The art style of the game has a realistic tone, and manages to merge realistic human characters with the large, realistic-looking anthropomorphic characters much better than Sonic 06 ever did!

Gameplay involves turn-based tactical combat and strategy, with real-time exploration and stealth gameplay. You’d be quackers to miss it!
