Spider-Man: Miles Morales now allows for ray tracing at 60fps

Developer Insomniac Games have released a new update for Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales on PS5.

Previously you could either opt for a fidelity mode or a performance mode. The aforementioned allowed for increased detail and ray tracing, with the trade-off being restricted to 30fps, while the latter increases the frame-rate to 60fps without ray tracing. With the new update, however, you can play the game with ray tracing support at 60fps thanks to the Performance RT Mode, which was an unexpected addition to say the least.

Insomniac have said that sacrifices have had to be made with the amount of New Yorkers on the screen as well as the resolution, but I’m sure this is going to be the way that many people will choose to play the game.

Hopefully we’ll see a similar update for Spider-Man: Remastered on PS5.
