The new Assassin’s Creed has a refreshingly vibrant look, if the first gameplay footage is anything to go by.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is set in Ancient Greece, and the game allows you to choose from one of two characters (Alexios or Kassandra) at the start, and you’ll remain with that character for the entire duration of the game. The characters are descendants of the Spartan King, Leonidas.

Odyssey also adds in branching narrative choices, and the combat is looking a little more fluid than the impressive but rather clunky combat of the previous game, Assassin’s Creed: Origins. The game is also said to be even more of an RPG than the previous game was.

As for returning features, Naval combat is back after being absent in the previous two games.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is made by Assassin’s Creed Syndicate developer Ubisoft Quebec, and is due for release on October 5th on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
