Bizarre Creations’ long rumoured James Bond game has finally been confirmed by publisher Activision. James Bond 007:  Blood Stone provides an authentic Bond concoction of third person gunplay (with an emphasis on taking cover and a slow motion focus mode), hand-to-hand combat and driving sequences (which should be something special, considering the developers expertise in this area). The game also takes place all over the world. There’s also 16 player multiplayer support, though it hasn’t been announced of just what this entails yet.

The story was written specifically for the game. It’s about diamonds and is written by Bond screenwriter Bruce Feirstein. Daniel Craig stars as Bond and Judi Dench reprises her role as M, whilst Grammy award winning singer Joss Stone will not only provide the original theme song for the game (along with David Stewart from the Eurythmics) but will also take on the role of one of the characters in the game.

James Bond 007: Blood Stone is due this Autumn and will be released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, with a DS release – developed by n-space and apparently very different from the other game – also in the pipeline.
