Gaming is an expensive hobby, especially if you consider yourself a serious player. As well as the eye-watering and ever-rising cost of console titles, all of the tech, DLCs, accessories, and merch can set you back thousands.

That’s why any truly savvy gamer knows how to keep an eye out for the best deals on the market. Whether you’re a fan of console gaming, online gaming, or sports betting, knowing where to look for the cheapest games and best offers pays off big time.

If you’re wanting to know which sites and stores to bookmark for future reference, check out the most jaw-droppingly good game deals of 2019 so far.

Square Enix Humble Bundle

Popular discount gaming retailer Humble Bundle finally teamed up with Japanese giant Square Enix to put together one of the best-value game packages in recent memory. Their recent Square Enix Collective Bundle allows you to buy £120 worth of Square Enix games for as little as £1. Most of the games on offer are indie titles, such as Deadbeat Heroes, The Turing Test, and Black the Fall, but there’s every reason to believe that future Square Enix Humble Bundles will include bigger games, so make sure to stay tuned.

MSI GeForce GPU x Fortnite

There can be no denying that 2019 has so far been a very good year to be a PC gamer, with all kinds of top-of-the-range hardware being heavily discounted in an effort to revive flagging sales. One of the most unique discount deals to come out in 2019 so far is E-Buyer’s MSI GeForce GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5 OC V1 Graphics Card, one of the best on the market, which they’re selling for a mere £169.98 (RRP: £240). In addition, they’re giving out a ton of free Fornite gear to every buyer, including skins, weapons, and upgrades.

Gaming Mouse Fire Sales

In another chapter of the great 2019 PC hardware sell-off, Amazon has decided to start aggressively slashing the prices of their top-performing gaming mouses. Perhaps they ordered too much stock? One of the standout examples is this deal on Corsair M65 Pro RGB Gaming Mouse, which has had its price reduced from £60 to a mere £37.99, a steal for one of the very best gaming mouses on the market right now.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey at Argos

Good old Argos. While many gamers have been turning away from their bulky catalogues in favour of online retailers, Argos has been quietly putting out some of the most unbelievable discounts on the newest games. Last year they grabbed some attention for their decision to sell Red Dead Redemption 2  at a steep discount only weeks after release, while this year they’re selling Assassin’s Creed Odyssey for a mere £21, less than half the RRP offered anywhere else.

Free Bets Extravaganza

If your preferred form of gaming is online sports betting, then you’re in luck. If 2019 has shown us anything, it’s that betting on your favourite sports teams is one of the few gaming options you can actually do for free. The free bets round-up page at Oddschecker is currently showing all of the bets you can acquire for absolutely free, as well as ‘matched bonuses’ which give players a free £10 every time they bet £10. It’s hard to find something to complain about when it’s literally free.

Ultimate Xbox One S Package 2019

We don’t know if console sales are on the decline or if certain retailers are just in a generous mood recently, but we’ve lost count of the number of Xbox One bundles which basically offer you extra goodies that are worth more than the console itself. One of these retailers is AO, which is now offering an Xbox One S complete with Forza Horizon 4, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, FIFA ’19, Crackdown 3, APEX Legends, a one-month Xbox Game Pass and 14 days of Xbox Live Gold Membership, all for a modest £250.

Nintendo Switch Mario Kart Bundle

eBay has been paying close attention to the behaviour of the other online giants and has decided to adjust its own behaviour accordingly. Of the many stellar deals they’re offering in 2019 is their Nintendo Switch Mario Kart Bundle, which consists of a neon red Switch console and a deluxe edition of Mario Kart 8, all for a mere £289, which is basically what you’d pay for the console alone. This one has been flying off the shelves.

77p Board Games Bundle

Who doesn’t love Steam? The online games library is arguably the entity which kick-started the fierce discounting wars that are now the norm, and they certainly haven’t gotten complacent over the years. If you’re in the mood for something a little bit different, you can snatch up their Board Games Bundle, which consists of popular board game-style PC games like Gloom and Ticket to Ride, for a jaw-dropping 77 pence. That’s right, you can get a total of four games for the same price as a bar of Galaxy.

The One Penny Game

Any fans of combat strategy classics should be salivating at this one. Steam has come through once again in 2019, offering the complete edition of Europa Universalis III for 1p. One. Single. Penny. That’s all you need to pay for around 100 hours of gripping gameplay. Unfortunately, you’ll still have to deal with service charges, which pushes the total amount you’ll actually pay up to a bank-breaking 32p.

Some of these deals are ongoing for the next few weeks and months, while others will be gone sooner than you think if they haven’t already. Either way, these are the places to look in the future if you want to play your favourite games for a fraction of the price.
