According to Famitsu, the first entry in the well regarded Tactics Ogre series is getting remade by Square Enix for the PSP under the new moniker of Tactics Ogre: Wheel of Fate.

Some of the talent involved in the original 1995 SNES release have reassembled for the remake: director Hiroshi Minagawa, character designers Akihiro Yoshida and Tsubasa Masao, and muscal composers Hitoshi Sakimoto and Iwata Masaji are all back together to work their magic.

Visually, the remake looks much the same as the original game, but is 3D (the old fashioned style, mind) allowing you to move the camera around the stages. Also the 20 character limit on the battlefield has been increased to 30, which obviously will allow for larger scale battles. Also featured are new classes and some changes to the skill system, as well as some additional narrative detail.

No Japanese release date yet, so obviously there’s also no Western date and there’s always the possibility that the game won’t even see a release outside of Japan.
