Summer of Arcade begins on the 21st July. Like previously, it’s comprised of a handful of games that Microsoft sees as some of the biggest titles of the year to hit the Xbox Live Arcade service.

First up is Limbo, a 2D physics based puzzler where you play a boy searching for his sister. It has a lovely black and white visual style and effective but minimalist use of sound.

Next up on the 28th July is speedboat racer Hydro Thunder Hurricane, which unsurprisingly features online racing and supports up to eight players, but it also supports split screen multiplayer, with support for up to four players.

The 4th August will see the release of Castlevania: Harmony of Despair, a new 2D version of Konami’s popular series with an online co-op twist and a coming together of characters from various games in the franchise.

Third-Person future sport shooter Monday Night Combat will arrive the 11th August. It has a sizeable career mode and six character classes with skills that can be upgraded. It also features multiplayer that offers both competitive and co-op modes.

Finally on the 18th August Lara Croft and The Guardian of Light will arrive. It’s a Tomb Raider spinoff, featuring the usual combination of puzzle solving and shooting, but features an isometric viewpoint and has a focus on two player co-op play.
