Rising Star Games have announced that Harvest Moon: Frantic Farming and Harvest Moon: Hero of Leaf are to be released sometime in autumn or winter. The former of which is to be released for the DS and the latter is coming for Sony’s PSP.

The DS’ Harvest Moon: Frantic Farming is said to be a puzzle game, in which you must match coloured crops before they do the unthinkable and take over the farm. Where’s a flock of crows when you need them? There’s 12 characters to choose from as well.

Harvest Moon: Hero of Leaf Valley is apparently going to be the biggest ever Harvest Moon released on PSP. Hero of Leaf Valley sounds to be a much more traditional Harvest Moon game, in which growing crops, raising animals, Mining ores and gems are the order of the day. The story sees you and other inhabitants attempting to save the titular Leaf Valley and your farm, with 16 possible outcomes to the story.

Martin Defries, managing director of Rising Star Games commented: “The Harvest Moon series is Rising Star Games’ longest standing and most successful franchise, Harvest Moon: Frantic Farming and Harvest Moon: Hero of Leaf Valley both push the boundaries of the Harvest Moon series, bringing new challenges and styles of gameplay to the classic collection.”

It’s all good news for Harvest Moon fans.
