Atlus has announced three new Persona games, a fighting game, a Persona 4 Vita remake and Persona 5.

The Vita version of Persona 4 will go under the name Persona The Golden (at least in Japan, anyway) and will come with a host of enhancements and fresh additions over the PS2 original. There’s Marie, a new character, new dialogue, a new opening sequence, more Persona’s and character costumes, and you can be saved from the brink of death by other players whilst in dungeons

Meanwhile, Persona 4 The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena deviates from the series usual genre of RPG and is instead a fighting game featuring characters from Persona 4 and, the fact that its developed by Guilty Gear and BlazBlue developer Arc System Works, will perhaps allow the game to attract fighting game devotees, as well as Persona fans.

Finally, the most exciting announcement of all to many fans will be the news of the existence of Persona 5. The game is currently without a platform, though given that recent games were PS2 releases, it would hardly come as a surprise if it turned out to be a PS3 game. Anyway, the game uses a brand new engine that will apparently make for easier development.

Let’s hope that all of these make their way to Europe.
