Tenebrae – Twilight of the Gods pays homage to the likes of Ghost n’ Goblins, Shadow of the Beast and Metroidvania-style games, and now the developer, Troglobytes Games, has announced an Xbox One release. This is thanks to Microsoft’s ID@Xbox program, which of course helps indie developers launch their games on Microsoft platforms.

The Tenebrae – Twilight of the Gods title takes its name from the world that the 2.5D platformer/action adventure game takes place in. The world of Tenebrae has procedurally generated levels, which contain traps, treasure and other secrets for you to uncover, and, in true Metroidvania style, you’ll be able to return to earlier points in the game world that were previously inaccessible, with new moves, skills and weapons granting you access. Using melee and ranged weapons, you’ll also come face to face with various creatures and bosses in the dark dungeon environments, and the game also has some RPG elements.
