In a first for an MMA game, 505 Game’s Supremacy MMA will include female fighters. Felice “Lil Dog” Herrig and Michele “Diablita” Gutierrez are real life MMA fighters and will be featured in the game.

“Female fighters are not represented in MMA games and face a giant glass ceiling in the fighting world. We’re proud to be a part of raising their profile and giving these tough-as-nails fighters their due in the virtual cage.” Said Ricci Rukavina, CEO and Creative Director of Kung Fu Factory in the announcement.

The two fighters also commented:

Felice “Lil Dog” Herrig: “Being one of the first women to represent MMA in a videogame is a dream come true for me. This is our chance to finally show gamers that female fighters can hold their own.”

Michele “Diablita” Gutierrez: “Joining the roster of fighters for Supremacy MMA is definitely awesome. The game takes a totally different approach to MMA so I think it’s perfect that this is the game that features women for the first time.”

Supremacy MMA will be released in June on Xbox 360 and PS3. It will be interesting to see how well it fairs given the failure of the excellent EA Sports MMA at retail.
