News – Soulcalibur V announced

Namco Bandai has announced the next game in the weapon-based Soulcalibur fighting series.

The events of Soulcalibur V take place 17 years after the brilliant Soulcalibur IV. New character Patroklos is described as the lead, whom is the son of Sophitia, but, while his moves are inspired by his mother, he’s actually more agile. Elsewhere, 39 year old Siegfried no longer holds the Soul Calibur sword.

The game itself is described as lighter, sharper, and more elegant. Combos and moves will now be easier to pull off, the focus has switched to short swords, there will be new faces, and create a character will make its return.

Soul Calibur V is due for release on Xbox 360 and PS3 next year. Namco Bandai will reveal more information at next month’s E3.
