Back in 2007, SEGA released the well received Crush on PSP, fast forward to September 2011 and the publisher will be releasing an updated version of the puzzle platform game on Nintendo’s 3DS.

Crush3D, as they’re calling it, will feature lots of new content, including new locations, characters and a hint system. The idea behind Crush sees you entering Danny’s mind and crushing your way from a 2D world to a 3D world and back again when need be. The concept sounds like it could work really well with the 3D capabilities of Nintendo’s handheld, and full 3D visuals have been promised. Staying with 3DS’ capabilities, you can also use Street Pass to leave gifts for your friends.

“CRUSH3D gives all gamers a chance to experience this critically acclaimed concept in full 3D,” said Gary Knight, Senior Vice President of Marketing of SEGA West. “With features specifically designed for this exciting new platform, CRUSH3D is right at home on the Nintendo 3DS.”

Crush3D will be released in PAL territories on September 9th.
