Firmware update 3.60 of the PS3 brings with it a welcome new addition, allowing you to store your data online, with the only catch being that you have to be a PlayStation Plus subscriber to make use of it.

Each subscriber gets 150MB of space, for up to 1000 game files. Copy prohibited files can also be backed up, though you’re only able to restore files that have been deleted from your console, only once within each 24 hour timeframe.

Most exisiting PS3 games will allow you to use the feature, whilst future games will offer the capability. When using it, you’re also able to access your data on any PS3 system, provided it’s conneted to the internet.
