There’s actually a bit of a lack of pirate games on the current generation of consoles, but Pixel Piracy is going to be another game that represents such rogues of the high seas.

Pixel Piracy is a side scrolling strategic sandbox game that plays out in a randomly generated open-world, and you get to do everything that you expect to be able to do as a pirate.

You’ll have your own customisable pirate ship, you’ll be able to hire your own crew, search for shiny treasure, and board enemy ships.

You are able to equip your crew with weapons, armour and other items. You’ll also be able to upgrade their stats and skills. Your ship can also be upgraded in various ways including the weapons and masts, entertainment and food, training gear and decorations.

The controls have also been reworked to assure that the game plays well on consoles.

Finally, publisher 505 Games are promising that all the major updates that were released for the PC version will be present in these newly announced PS4 and Xbox One versions.

Pixel Piracy isn’t too far away, as the game is set to be released digitally on February 16th.
