Back in July it was announced that Yorkshire based developer Just Add Water were set to revive the weird and wonderful Oddworld series. Well, now it’s been announced that an enhanced remake of Oddword: Stranger’s Wrath (originally released on the Xbox back in 2005) is on its way to PS3.

What can we expect in this “enhanced remake”? HD visuals with normal mapping and self-shadowing, superior detail in the character models, and re-mastered dialogue and PlayStation Move support. There will also be bonus material, of which Just Add Water are keeping quiet about, for now.

Stewart Gilray, Managing Director of JAW, is delighted about bringing the game back: “Since word got out that we’ve been working with Oddworld Inhabitants there have been many rumours circulating about what we’re working on. Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath is the first project in what we believe will be a long and fruitful relationship. Having the chance to update this great title and release it on PS3 is just a brilliant opportunity, not least for us, but for the fans too.”

The game will be released via digital distribution on PSN next Easter, hopefully it’ll have a lot more success than the 2005 original.
