Nintendo’s next console, codenamed Project Cafe, could be called Stream, although it’s only one name being bandied about by the Japanese giant.

Of course, it would be named stream because Nintendo apparently have something clever which allows games to be streamed to the controller, of which will have a screen with touch capabilities.

Rumours also suggest that the console will be similar in size to the original Xbox 360, potentially being designed to look like a modern SNES. As for the innards, well they will contain a revamped version of AMD’s R700 GPU architecture, which means it will be more powerful than Sony’s beastly PS3. The system will also support 1080p HD.

There’s even talk that the console could be launching this year, with a mid October to early November release suggested, although what territories is this information in regards to? Finally, the console is being manufactured in Taiwan.

An E3 reveal is currently looking likely, which is certainly something to look forward to.
