News – New waves of Amiibos announced

Two fresh wave of Amiibos are on the way, Nintendo has announced.

The Super Mario Collection will consist of New models of Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Peach and Bowser, as well as Toad. The 24th of April will see the arrival of a new range of Super Smash Bros. themed figures consisting of Pac Man, Ness, Robin, Lucina and Charizard.

When it arrives on the 20th of March, you’ll be able to use the Super Mario Collection Amiibos on Mario Party 10 to unlock boards based on the characters and also let you play as the character in the game. By using the Toad figure, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker meanwhile will get a fresh hide and seek mode, which tasks you with finding Toad sprites hidden around the level.

3DS owners will be able to use Amiibo’s on the system next month. The upcoming Code name: STEAM will support Amiibos from the Fire Emblem series and will unlock the characters for use in game.
