Ubisoft has announced that new games from the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon series are coming to the Wii and PSP.

First up is Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon on the Wii. This one is built around co-op, and another player can drop in and join you in the fight at anytime (on the same screen!), they can also drop out as well, with the AI taking over their duties. The story sees the characters of Hibbard and Booth becoming separated from the rest of their squad in Moscow, although luckily, being a Tom Clancy branded game, they’ll have access to some really fancy kit, which is always helpful when you’re outgunned. The game will feature 12 missions (set in the likes of Norway and Russia), unlockable characters from not only Ghost Recon but also the likes of Splinter Cell and Rainbow Six, finally it is said to be accommodating for players of all skill levels, which certainly makes a lot of sense considering the potential wide reach of the game on the Wii. This one is certainly sounding promising and is currently scheduled for release in November.

Next up, we have Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Predator on the PSP. Predator takes place in the jungles of Sri Lanka and the Ghosts are tasked with clearing a path for a US invasion force that is set to storm the place in 72 hours, although the Ghosts discover that the intelligence is unreliable and they’re looking to stop a war with Pakistan before it starts. The game will feature high-tech gadgets (shiny prototype weapons, air support from the explosive birds in the sky, and drones) and and will also have co-op for up to three players at once via ad-hoc. The game is set for release on September 30th and also sounds most promising.

The months of September and November are going to be most welcome for Ghost Recon fans.
