Details of the upcoming Vita version of Mortal Kombat have been revealed from creative director Ed Boon in an interview with The PlayStation Blog.

The game will run at a lovely 60 frames per second and the characters and modes are all identical to that of the PS3 version, whilst both local and online multiplayer is included. It also takes advantage of Vita’s features. So fatalities and X-Ray attacks can be performed through the touch capabilities of the system.

There’s also a fresh Challenge Tower, containing 150 new challenges, many of which use the Touch screen and Accelerometer of Vita: manipulating gravity by tilting the system for example.

You can find out what we made of the Xbox 360 and PS3 version of the game by reading our review.

The game is set to arrive in the Spring.
