505 Games and developer NaturalMotion Games have announced that Backbreaker (Xbox 360, PS3), their Euphoria powered American Football game, is to receive a major patch early this month.

The patch (titled the Greathouse Update)  is to bring a number of additions that will please the fans of NaturalMotions rival to EA’s long running Madden series. Here’s a run down from the official announcement of what to expect:

  • Brand new replay system with the addition of seven fully functional cameras, including free flight mode and a cinematic ‘ball-lock’ option.
  • More than 100 new plays added, including an additional nine formations.
  • Improved Quarterback camera view and passing game.
  • A user-catch system, giving the player a much greater level of control over the on-field action.
  • Interception control, the user is now given full control over interception attempts when controlling a defensive player.
  • Comprehensive review of the penalty rulings following an analysis of reported errors.

In our review, Andrew stated that “This is a very solid base to start what could hopefully be a long-running franchise”

Thanks to player feedback, this update is looking to improve what’s already there.
