News – Homefront: The Revolution hitting homes in May
Well, Homefront: The Revolution already has quite the story to tell, surviving the death of its original publisher THQ and developer Crytek UK, but now we know that the game is finally due for release on 20th May on PS4, Xbox One and PC. Along with the announcement, Deep Silver have also released a new gameplay video for the game, which can be viewed at the bottom of the page.
Unlike the original game, Homefront: The Revolution is an open-world FPS as opposed to a linear one. The game takes place in Philadelphia in 2029, four years after the opening events of the original game, which saw The Greater Korea Republic invade America.
A closed beta is also scheduled for February exclusively on the Xbox One. To be in with a chance of being part of the beta, you’ll have to look out for upcoming promotions in which you’ll potentially be able to get your hands on an Xbox One Beta Token.
Deep Silver of course purchased the Homefront franchise after Crytek UK closed its doors, while newly formed developer Dambuster is at the development helm.
