The original Grand Slam Tennis was a really good first attempt for the series on the Wii, and was one of the flagship titles to show off Nintendo’s MotionPlus add-on. EA have now announced the sequel, which is set to appear on the PS3 and Xbox 360 this time around.

Grand Slam Tennis 2 will include all the Grand Slam Championships, and is the only game to feature Wimbledon. Just like the original, there will also be players past and present to choose from. These 20 tennis greats will apparently play in the exactly the same way that they do/did in real life.

The PS3 version will naturally include Move support, which, based on the original game’s motion control, is sure to be the most realistic way to play the game.

EA are also boasting a Total Racquet Control feature, which basically allows you to control every shot with the right analog stick. It will be a really precise manner in which to play the game, apparently.

As for modes you’ll be able to relive 25 classic tennis moments in the ESPN Grand Slam Tournament Classics mode. There will also be a decade long career mode.

Grand Slam Tennis 2 will be released in 2012 on PS3 and Xbox 360.
