BioWare has officially announced the third iteration in their Dragon Age series. Dragon Age III: Inquisition is set for release late next year.

As for formats, EA or BioWare aren’t saying yet, which could very well suggest that the game will arrive on the currently unannounced PS4 and the third Xbox, which are both strongly thought to be launching sometime next year.

Little is known of Dragon Age III: Inquisition at this point other than the same team that made the first two games in the series are involved in the game, which has been in development for around two years. Also known is the fact that it will be powered by a new Frostbite 2 based engine, of which will apparently allow for more lavish visuals, a larger world, a higher level of customization and better reactions to player choices.

There’s plenty of questions left to be answered in relation to the game, but perhaps the real question is that if BioWare will be able to deliver a game that detractors of Dragon Age 2 will feel has put the series back on track, though such people can rest assured that the developer has been looking closely at player feedback.
