News – Dishonored 2 gameplay videos inside
Dishonored 2 has finally been shown off, and with it we have learned a number of new things about the game.
The video shows off how random storms can occur in the game, there’s more emphasis on going to the rooftops in comparison to the well received original game, and new powers include Far Reach, which is basically a telekinesis power that can pull objects and enemies towards you, and a distraction power called Mesmerise, which makes enemies completely oblivious to your presence. There’s also a rather amusing Domino power, which has tagged enemies sharing the same fate as one another. As an example, the video shows off one enemy stepping on a mine and the others who are out of range, also suffer an explosive end. There’s also a device that allows you to time travel, and you can look through a lens to see what the environment looked like in the alternate timeline before warping there. Clever stuff.
The game is also very open in how you can tackle each mission. This time around you also get the choice between two characters: Corvo, the protagonist of the original game, as well as Emily Kaldwin, the daughter of the Empress. The events of the story take place 15 years after those of the original game. Corvo is also now voiced.
The game is also looking visually beautiful, and makes use of developer Arkane Studios’ brand new Void Engine.
Dishonored 2 is due for release on PS4, Xbox One and PC on November 11th.
