In delightful news, Namco Bandai’s Marketing Director Lee Kirton has mentioned the possibility of a sequel to Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, one of 2010’s most under appreciated gems. Speaking to MCV, Kirton had the following to say:

“It (Enslaved) didn’t perform as well as we hoped it would, but we’re very proud of how it was received by both the media and the gamers who have experienced it.”

“I can’t discuss where we are in terms of a sequel, but we’re looking at reviews and feedback from the press and because of the gameplay and quality that Enslaved delivered, we see it as a great catalogue title going forward.”

Obviously, this isn’t confirmation of a sequel, but it’s still a number of words that fill my heart with hope. Enslaved: Odyssey to the West (Xbox 360 and PS3) featured a great cast of characters, a lovely art style, and satisfying exploration and decent combat, but it sadly had a miserable time at retail.

Expect our review soon.
