News – Classic FPS Doom exploding in May
May 13th is the day that we’ll all be able to play some more Doom, as the latest game in the series is having a worldwide release on PS4, Xbox One and PC on this very day.
Publisher Bethesda has also revealed a Collector’s Edition of the game, which will be available in select retailers. This version will include a copy of the game in a lovely metal case as well as a 12″ tall collector’s statue of the Revenant demon. The statue stands on an LED-lit base. The Collector’s Edition will cost £99.99 here in the UK.
Whether you pre-order the standard version or Collector’s Edition, you’ll receive the Demon Multiplayer pack. This pack features a unique demon armour set with three skin variations, six metallic paint colours, three id logo patterns for weapons and armour, and a set of six Hack Modules. The latter can only be used once, but they’ll apparently give you somewhat of an edge in a multiplayer match.
Doom is one of the pioneers of the FPS genre, and with fast paced and explosive action, as well as big guns, the newest game in the series is thankfully more of the same. As the campaign trailer below shows, it looks a whole lot better though.
