BioWare has finally spoken out about what can be expected from Mass Effect 3’s multiplayer mode, of which is a first for the series.

There’s 4 player co-op, in which you’ll be teaming up with other players to liberate prominent territories using a variety of classes and races. Success in multi-player will apparently have a direct impact on the outcome of the single player campaign. BioWare are calling it an alternative method in which to achieve ultimate victory.

Something else that the developer has revealed is the Galaxy at War system. The key to saving the galaxy is the “Galactic Readiness” level apparently, of which will be increased in a number of ways, by playing multiplayer included. But you’ll be able to complete the game through single player alone and multiplayer will not impact the quality of the single player in any way, which will definitely put many minds at rest.

Mass Effect 3 will be released early next year on PS3 and Xbox 360.
