News – Batman: Arkham Origins announced
Warner Bros. has announced Batman: Arkham Origins for the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC.
Unlike the previous two Arkham games, Batman: Arkham Origins will not be developed by Rocksteady Studios, but instead will be made by WB Games Montreal.
As the name suggests, the game will take place prior to the events of the previous games, at a point when Batman is still relatively new to the business of dressing up as a bat to fight crime and along the way he’ll meet some of his villains for the first time. The premise sees Black Mask assembling a team of assassins to kill Batman.
This time around the game is set on Christmas eve in Gotham city with a gameplay space that is double the size of Arkham city. The city will be split into two areas, with the north half being similar to Arkham city and the south side being a completely fresh and classier area. The Nightwing will allow you to fast travel around the city, though you’ll have to deactivate towers, before you’re able to fast travel to certain areas.
Batman has a new gadget for you to play with. The remote claw allows you to shoot two targets at once and them pull them towards each other as well as to set up traps.
Also on the way is 3DS and PlayStation Vita game Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate a 2D game developed by Armature Studio that takes place following the events of Batman: Arkham Origins. All the ingredients of the primary series are featured such as stealth, free-flow combat and the detective mode.
Both games are set to arrive on the 25th of October.
