News – Assassin’s Creed Chronicles Trilogy announced
Yes, we knew about Assassin’s Creed Chronicles and the upcoming game set in China, but Ubisoft has announced the release date of the first game as well as a further two games in the spin-off series.
The first game in the series will be released on April 22nd on PS4, Xbox once, and PC, and is, unsurprisingly, the game set in China (starring Shao Jun from Assassin’s Creed Embers). Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China will be followed by two further games, Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India (featuring Arbaaz Mir from the Assassin’s Creed graphic novels as the protagonist) and Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: Russia (Nikolaï Orelov from the graphic novels is the game’s playable master assassin in this one). Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China is set during the time when the Ming Dynasty began to crumble, while India goes back to the time when the Sikh Empire were preparing for war, and, finally, Russia takes place during the aftermath of the Red October revolution.
As you can see in the announcement video below, the games also have their own distinct visual styles, with the first game taking inspiration from Chinese watercolours for its look, while the third game takes inspiration from revolutionary propaganda. Ubisoft have described the visuals of the game as living paintings.
