SSX: Deadly Descents was officially revealed at the Spike Video Game Awards back in December, but now more details have come to light from Electronic Gaming Monthly.

Apparently there will be around 17 regions in the game, including the likes of Siberia, Kilimanjaro, Caucasus, the Alps and the Himalayas (split into two mountains for your snowboarding pleasure), with a total of 70 dangerous and open mountains, with perils such as thin air, extreme temperatures and ice. Purchased and won gear can help you survive these perils.

There’s also proper tracks as well and Elise will return to the snowboarder roster, which is quite a surprise as I really though they had completely thrown all the old stuff out.

Finally, there’s even one of those popular rewind features, which allows you to instantly correct any silly mistakes that you make. No word on how limited of a feature this will be, and perhaps its use will be unlimited in the same manner that it is in Forza 3.

SSX: Deadly Descents will be released on Xbox 360 and PS3 later this year.
