News – Amaterasu and Thor for Marvel vs. Capcom 3

Hot on the heels of the four announced characters yesterday, a further two members of the Marvel vs. Capcom 3 roster have been uncovered on Marvel’s official gallery of the upcoming fighting game, by neoGAF members. The screens featuring the two characters of Amaterasu and Thor have since been taken down, so obviously the reveal of the characters was accidental this time around.
Regarding the two characters, Thor is one of Marvel’s most successful properties and the fact that the comic is also getting adapted into a film next year, is sure to add further interest to the character, so the thunder god should be a popular addition. Wolf Goddess Amaterasu on the other hand hails from the cult Clover Classic Okami, and it’s good to see that it’s not just mass market franchises being given all the attention by Capcom.

[...] At gamescom, Capcom has revealed two further characters for Marvel vs. Capcom 3. It’s hardly surprising that Viewtiful Joe is in there, being that the character starred in such a critically acclaimed Capcom series, although also unveiled was Marvel’s Dormammu.
